Pecan Bowl Blank P-471 5.5" x 9" x 9.5" 9.4 lbs. This is an attractive half-log bowl blank of Texas-grown Pecan wood. Its color is a soft tan to peachy light brown color with subtle darker-brown streaks of mineralization. The wood grain has a pleasant and gracefully flowing pattern. It has full and well-attached bark on the back side. There are a few bug borer tunnels. This half-log bowl blank should be suitable for a bowl up to 9" in diameter and 5" deep. With the bark on the backside, you have the option of turning a conventional bowl or a "barky" natural-edge bowl. However, if you want a full bark edge on the "natural" rim, you will need to secure the bark with CA glue before and possibly during turning. This piece is GREEN to partially air-dried, meaning that it still retains a lot of its original moisture from when it was a living tree. Moisture content was 20-25% when measured in May, 2022. It has been well-sealed and is in the process of slowly drying. It was heat-treated to kill off any hungry critters that may have been burrowing inside. If you need a current moisture content, please message us and we'll check its status for you. I'm taking plenty of photos of this piece, so please scroll down below the first 3 photos to see more. This piece does have some pith in it as well as a few pith-related drying cracks that you may wish to reinforce with CA glue. About the Tree This Texas-grown Pecan tree was harvested in Fresno Texas in December, 2021. It was in a residential neighborhood where it had been planted near a home that was built in the 1930s. Over the years, the small Pecan tree grew large, and it threatened the house. The homeowners reluctantly called their tree company to cut down the tree and stack the wood for us to recover. We're always happy to save wood from the firepit or city dump. Their trash is now yours to treasure! |

I really like these filters. This is the brand I try to use, unless they're unavailable. Fast shipping and a great product. Easy to install. Great value for the money. Not driving it is the only thing that helps the gas mileage.
Shipped by Amazon. Box damaged during shipping. The air filter was placed in the bottom of the box and 5 lbs of honey, 1 case (12 cans) of sardines and another item were placed on top of the air filter inside the box. The 5 lbs of honey is in a plastic 1/2 gallon bottle with bubble wrap tapped around the lid/cap.
All items ship from Amazon. There was NO padding or filler in the box. Fortunately, none of the 4 items were not damaged or covered in honey. This has become a very serious issue with Amazon orders. This isn't the 1st time I've received my order and the box was as about to come apart. If I have to return something to Amazon, it's about a 75 mile round trip to the nearest UPS store.

My 2004 Ram baby deserves the best especially when it’s like 5 bucks more for a good quality air filter that’s gonna be on the truck for 30/40 k miles. Don’t replace every 15K, that’s quick lube sales talk.. only if you live in a dust bowl.
