This extraordinary red wine blend combines 90% Nebbiolo (known as Chiavennasca) with 10% local Valtellinese grape varieties, including Rossola, Pignola, and Brugnola.
The grapes are carefully selected from vineyards in the charming towns of Mello, Berbenno, and Chiuro. These vineyards face south and are situated at altitudes ranging from 400 to 500 meters above sea level, creating optimal conditions for grape growing.
The winemaking process embraces both tradition and innovation. After a short fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine primarily matures in half-new barriques or large oak casks (5-10 HL) for 8 to 12 months. This oak aging stabilizes the wine's color, gives it structure, and imparts a lovely, light, and velvety tannin. The aromatic bouquet invites immediate enjoyment.
