Lotus Planting Instructions

Put heavy loam soil in a wide (24 - 48 inches or wider) container, dig a trench in the top of the soil and place your sacred lotus tuber in the trench, being careful not to damage the tuber. Gently add some soil over the lotus tuber, keeping the growth tips exposed. Add 4 - 6 inches of water over the soil and place your container in a sunny location that receives 8+ hours of sunlight per day. In a week or two you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water. DO NOT FERTILIZE until the coin leaves change into aerial leaves that are growing out of the water.

How to fertilize your lotus plant

Fertilize monthly with Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs + Humates during the growing and blooming season (June through September) for vigorous growth and best bloom!

*Carefully follow the planting instructions, never use potting soil and make sure you fertilize your sacred lotus plants as they are very heavy feeders! Feeding them will give you more blooms, robust plants and will avoid chlorotic leaves.
